Building partnership approaches
Partnership working gives Bookstart coordinators access to dads and families involved in Sure Start groups, Family Learning courses, library services, health clinics, voluntary sector provision, BME groups and specific support groups.
Bookstart colleagues tell us that effective partnerships are built through:
- Jointly building an information and knowledge base of the local area
- Attending early years coordination meetings
- Attending multi-agency meetings
- Actively seeking joint-working opportunities
- Running Bookstart familiarisation courses for other professionals
- Taking part in joint events such as family fun days, health promotion events or Fathers Day events
